Yeti

Update:
My vet had a cancellation and Yeti was neutered July 15th.
He will go to his new home on August 1st.

The time has come.
Yeti is set to be neutered and retired on August 5th.
This one will be especially difficult.
But no matter what, I know it's always the right decision to make as a breeder.
I could live in the middle of nowhere and it's not really fair to keep them all, especially when they can go on to have a such an impact on another person or family.
Yeti's been a great dog in our lives but I want him to be the center of attention in someone else's
I will be searching for his next chapter - the perfect retirement home.

Happy 7th Birthday Yeti

Flying Home in Style

6/23/2022

It's not often one of our puppies flys home.
The reason being is we are unable to ship our puppies sight unseen via ground or puppy nanny.
We don't make the rules.
That's the guidelines set forth by the USDA if you own more than 4 intact female animals.
A buyer has to come to us for pick up in person and then can fly their puppy home in cabin.
Well this was definitely a first.
One of Phoenix's Frenchton pups, Johnny Depp, got to fly home in style on a private jet.
As he should with a nickname like that. :)
Enjoy your new life in Minnesota Bogey!

Molly + Hedwig

As breeders, we make the difficult decision to rehome our retired adult dogs.
We'd love to keep them forever, but it is truly in the best interest of our dogs to go on to equally loving homes so they can be the center of attention with a new person or family. Our dogs are our family first and foremost in our breeding programs and we want nothing less than that for their next chapter. We understand how challenging a puppy can be and that is why it can be the most perfect situation for a family to take an already housebroken adult dog. There is of course an adjustment period for them to become bonded to their routine. Patience and understanding is key.

Currently we have made the decision with 2 of our dogs.

Molly and Hedwig.

Molly is a lovable French Bulldog from our Phoenix's Frenchton line and Hedwig is a sweet Boston girl from the MZBT program.

I am extremely selective in finding the absolute best homes for our retired family members.
If interested in either of these girls, please send me a message or refer to the "Retired" tab for more info.

Molly will be placed first.

4/3 Update: Thank you Kayla and Family for welcoming Molly into your home.
She will reside on an acreage north of Sioux Falls.
4/9 Update: Thank you Beej, Liz and Finch (Boston Terrier) for welcoming Hedwig into your family.
She will reside in Minnesota.

Surprise Care Package Post Op Day 4

2/18/2022

Got home and Amazon was just leaving.
Odd, as I haven't ordered anything.
Found a box addressed to Tammy and Yeti...
I just knew who sent it when I opened it.
We are post op day 4 now and he's doing so good.
He's up and down the stairs, off and on the couch, chair, bed, and outside bench.
This doesn't phase him one bit.

Enucleation Post Op Day 1

2/15/2022

VIEWER DISRECTION ADVISED!

Yeti's Enucleation Post Op Day 1
He HATES the cone, this is going to be an interesting 2 weeks.
I asked if this could have been due to glaucoma.
No.
This is what the Vet said:
"Suspect stromal abscess or corneal injury that lead to uveitis (low intraocular pressure and inflammation to the eye).
Uveitis can lead to glaucoma, but he did not have glaucoma yet. Eye looked as though it had perforated by the time we went to surgery."
The good news is they had an ophthalmologist in their pocket to consult with too.
This was absolutely the right call to make.

A Valentine’s Day to Remember…

Yeti had to have surgery today to remove an eye.
I had taken him to my Vet on Thursday.
But unfortunately it continue to get worse over the weekend.
I took him to another vet today and I decided it would be best to have it removed, it did not appear it could be salvaged.

A dream come true.
Echo in pj’s with a huge family Christmas gathering!

The BEST families always find me and I couldn’t be happier for her.
Thanks Angela and Casey.

You truly are the best.

This girl was a tough one for me but it would be incredibly selfish for me to keep them all.
I really enjoy raising puppies.
My retired dogs truly deserve the next chapter in their lives with an equally wonderful family.

Google Review

10/15/2021

Since it’s been about a year, and I don’t utilize Facebook for reviews, I thought I’d post my Google Business profile.
Please leave us a review if you are so inclined about your experience with MZ Bostons, good or bad, what you liked or maybe didn’t like that I could do differently or better.
If there’s things I can change, I’d love to know!
Thanks!

Worms

9/28/2021

SKIP THIS POST IF YOU HAVE A SQUIMISH STOMACH
Let’s have a Gross Conversation.
The Topic?
Worms
Yes, it’s the awful truth, puppies can and do tend to have worms.
Even my puppies.
Shocking, I know.
I do a lot of preventatives prior to your puppy going home.
And I clean up a lot of poop.
That’s why a good deworming schedule needs to continue even after leaving your breeder’s home.
Worms are tricky little things, becoming more and more resistant to medicines.
Our regimen here at MZBostons is biweekly dewormings.
They get Pyrantel (such as NeMex-2) at 2 and 4 weeks. This is a one-day dose and gentler on little newborn puppies tummies.
Then at 6 and 8 weeks we switch things up to Fenbendazole (Safeguard Goat Dewormer is what I use). This is a three-day course of dewormer and boy does that loosen their poop up. Yuck! But it’s a necessary mess to deal with. (Five days if you are having trouble with giardia, a whole different story…).
For example, my current older litter of puppies just went through their 3 day course on Friday the 24th thru Sunday the 26th.
Today is Tuesday, the 28th, and look at what I found. Worms. It’s still working. Cleaning those little systems out.
So if you get a puppy and bring it home and it has worms, first of all, don’t freak out. It happens.
You too can deworm your puppy/adult dog at home (links to products I use will be in the comment section below).
Just remember, dogs are gross.
They eat poop and other nasty stuff.
They just do.
They. Are. Dogs.
It’s what they do.
They are not little human fur babies, they are dogs.
And yes, they will have worms.
But it’s not the end of the world.
