Buyer's Info.
Boston Terrier puppies are placed as Pet Quality with Limited AKC registration paperwork.
Full AKC registration may be available on select puppies to small breeding program upon further discussion.
Gamora and Nakia's offspring are ineligible for Full AKC as per my contract with their breeder.
Puppies can go home when they are 8 weeks of age, at the appropriate weight, and eating well.
If you are seriously interested in a puppy,
a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $500 is required to hold that puppy for you.
The deposit ensures that we will hold your puppy choice until the time of pick-up.
This also means the puppy is taken off the market for many other potential homes.
The deposit will then be deducted from the purchase price.
Puppies are typically priced after birth and can vary, ballpark range 1500-2500 depending on different factors.
We do NOT accept deposits before puppies are born.
We are a small home breeder, so we do not offer 1st pick, etc. as we only have a limited number of puppies available.
We do not keep a waitlist.
We feel a family will know when it's the perfect time to add a puppy to their life and they will contact us when the time is right.
We do not hold puppies without a deposit.
Please Understand: All deposits are non-refundable unless we would lose the puppy in our care.
Yes, this is the sad and unfortunate truth, a puppy can pass away from 0-8 weeks in our care for various and unknown reasons, and is incredibly heartbreaking to us and their future family.
The deposit would be refunded the same way the deposit was placed - Square Invoice (minus fee) or Zelle.
If deposit was paid in cash, I will mail you a check for documentation purposes.
If Buyer changes his or her mind or if some other reason comes up, this deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Please be very serious when placing a deposit.

PUPPY + DOG FOOD WE FEED:
The right kind of dog food is the kind that works for your dog. We've tried others in the past such as Taste of the Wild, Victor, and Sport Dog Food. Currently, our adults are eating Purina Pro Plan Sport Performance 30/20 - chicken. Sometimes we do salmon or beef to change up flavors. We buy it on Chewy.com and have it shipped right to our door. Puppies are started on Purina Pro Plan Sport Performance 30/20 chicken as it is an all stages food. Each puppy goes home with a pound of Pro Plan Sport 30/20. If you prefer to stay on this brand, please pick up a bag before your puppy goes home! |
OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19:
** Due to Covid-19, we have implemented drive-way pick ups only. **
Prior to picking up your puppy, I will send you a copy of the Vet Check.
Please wait in your vehicle upon arriving; I will bring your puppy out to you while wearing a mask.
I will have you sign the Bill of Sale and go over the microchip and information in the folder.
I will snap a quick photo of you and your new puppy.
Because of the pandemic, we can no longer allow puppy visitation before 8 weeks of age.
Our #1 priority is keeping our family, puppies, and you safe and healthy.
Our home is monitored with 24/7 video surveillance.
OUR VACCINATION SCHEDULE:
✓ At 5 weeks of age, puppies will be vaccinated with 1 dose of NeoPar
(single way Parvo vaccination, the best of the best) http://neotechvaccines.com/neopar/
✓ At 7 weeks of age, puppies will go to my vet for their 5-in-1 combination puppy vaccination and puppy check up
It is up to the buyer to finish their vaccinations + rabies.
To avoid over-vaccinating your dog, have a titer performed to find out the number of antibodies present.
**We have decided to do away with LEPTO when vaccinating our dogs, this is our own personal decision,
as Bostons can be highly sensitive to the additive of Lepto in vaccinations.**
OUR WORMING SCHEDULE:
✓ At 2 & 4 weeks of age, puppies will be wormed with Pyrantel Pamoate for 1 day
✓ At 6 & 8 weeks of age, puppies will be wormed with Fenbendazole for 3-5 days
BUYER RESPONSIBILITY:
When purchasing a puppy from us, we ask that you agree to provide a safe and loving home to nurture your new puppy.
This proper care will include: a healthy diet, safe environment and shelter, proper veterinary care, and continued vaccinations and dewormings. Socialization and much time spent playing, training, and loving your new puppy is also very important.
All of this can help ensure that you have a mentally, socially, physically, well developed, and healthy puppy.
It is important to remember that puppies are a living, breathing, eating, pooping, thinking, chewing, high-energy, accident-prone, vaccination-needing, attention-seeking beings. Kind of like humans at various stages in life.
Puppies are a huge commitment. Please understand the responsibility you are undertaking before inquiring.
Puppies can be wild and crazy at times,
PLEASE do NOT let your puppy jump out of you or your child's arms or off furniture as they can and will get hurt.
JHC (JUVENILE HEREDITARY CATARACTS) DNA TESTING:
All of our adult dogs have been personally tested for JHC through Animal Genetics, a DNA lab located in Florida,
and are CLEAR (n/n) NON-CARRIER.
This means all puppies will be clear through parentage.
Cataracts due to old age could develop during a dog's senior years, which differs from juvenile cataracts.
We will send you home a copy of the parents' results for your own records when purchasing a puppy.

CONTRACT INFORMATION:
Matthew Zane's Boston Terriers guarantees that you will receive a Limited or Full AKC registrable Boston Terrier,
within which we are in good standing, with the exception of puppies produced by Gamora or Nakia.
AKC Inspected and Approved on October 24, 2019.
We have made an effort to produce you a pet quality, healthy puppy. We guarantee all shots and dewormings are current.
It is the buyer's responsibility to provide ongoing preventative care: vaccinations, deworming, heart worm prevention medication, flea/tick prevention, mini microchip registration, etc.
We do not cover conditions inherent of this breed including but not limited to elongated soft palate, stenotic nares (collapsed/pinched nostrils), heart murmurs, collapsed larynx or trachea, cherry eye, entropion, loose hips, hemivertebrae,
open fontanelle, non-erect ears, patellar luxation, bilateral/unilateral deafness, juvenile early onset cataracts, retained testicles, recessed vulva, puppy vaginitis, hernias, strabismus or under/overbite.
We do not cover NOT cover hips, hip dysplasia, elbow or knee dysplasia. There are factors other than genetics (early spay/neuter) that contribute to Dysplasia, including, but not limited to, the slope that a dog lives on, the floor surface, the activities the dog participates in, jumping off furniture, jumping out of an adult or child's arms. etc.
Growth plates do not close until a puppy has fully grown and matured, around 10-14 months of age.
Things can and do happen so fast, and we can not be held responsible for these accidents.
We are not responsible for Parvo, Distemper, Kennel Cough or Corona Virus, as these are highly contagious diseases
and can be transmitted immediately after leaving the breeder.
PARVO NOTICE:
Something to keep in mind. A puppy is not fully vaccinated against parvo until up to 10 days after it has received the third booster. Please be VERY cautious in taking your puppy to places frequented by a lot of dogs. Parvo is rampant and has mutated many times. Contractibility at places such as Petsmart, Petco, and dog parks are HIGH. Be aware that parvo can also be carried on YOUR clothes, shoes and car tires. NEVER TAKE A SICK PUPPY BACK TO THE BREEDER'S HOME. If it does have parvo, this will put any present puppies and future litters at risk. Contact the breeder and discuss the situation with us by phone/e-mail. Please note that just one puppy from a litter can develop parvo and not the whole litter. Therefore, if your puppy develops parvo after leaving the breeder’s home and none of the other puppies develop it, it is impossible for the puppy to have contracted it at the breeder's home.
We do NOT guarantee against, Coccidiosis, Giardia, or Worms.
▹ Coccidia is a bacterial infection brought on by stress and diet change.
▹ Giardia is an infection brought on by infected drinking water.
▹ Worms recycle often, and it is very important to maintain a good worming program.
There are certain disorders that may be caused by environment factors (Allergies, Thyroid Dysfunction, Ear Mites,
and Demodectric Mange) that are not covered by breeder.
Puppy is PET QUALITY. We offer no guarantee that the puppy could or could not have faults, which could make it unsuitable for showing or breeding. We do not guarantee the ability of the puppies to reproduce. Please keep in mind, this is beyond our control.
It is a bit of a gamble for us as well when we seek puppies for the prospect and potential in our own breeding program.
Breeder does NOT guarantee size, temperament, conformation, or color when fully grown.
Colored Boston Terriers can sometimes have skin conditions that are more sensitive than others.
This could be due to environmental issues, poor nutrition and stress.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your pup will not have these issues.
GOING HOME:
Your puppy is going home to a brand new environment. Any change to the puppy's diet and stress can cause him/her to have hypoglycemia or diarrhea. Your puppy could experience a lack of appetite during this transition time as well and may have some anxiety due to change in environment. Please be patient with the puppy and these issues should correct themselves. Under no circumstances will breeder be responsible for ANY type of veterinary bills, medical bills, legal liabilities or transportation charges. These costs are the buyer's responsibility.
We do not require that new owners continue feeding the food that we use, however, we do ask that you feed out at least one full bag of the food the puppy is on before switching to a new diet. Transitioning to a new home is already stressful on a puppy, so we strongly feel this is NOT the time to also introduce new food or treats. A complete food change can be disruptive to your puppy's immature digestive system and can result in diarrhea and other issues when not done properly.
SPAY/NEUTER:
We do not require you to alter your puppy.
We believe a puppy should be allowed to grow and mature before doing so and the decision is yours to make.
We encourage buyers to keep in contact with us throughout your puppy's life so we can watch him/her grow up with you.
SHIPPING:
United Airlines PetSafe program has banned Boston Terriers flying in cargo as of 5/1/18.
We do not offer any shipping options at this time.
All buyers must pick up their puppy in person.
RETURNING A PUPPY:
If for some reason you would decide to return your puppy,
you have EXACTLY 48 hours to do so from the time you pick the puppy up.
Puppy is to be returned in the good, healthy condition that he/she left with.
Worms, Coccidia, Giardia, and Kennel Cough are not a reason to return a puppy.

All documents and puppy package given at the time of the purchase, must be returned as well.
**If the puppy is returned or surrendered after 48 hours for whatever reason, absolutely NO refund will be given.**
It is the BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY to take the puppy to a licensed vet within 48 hours of taking possession of the puppy,
72 hours if possession takes place on a Friday or Saturday.
A copy of the vet visit must be returned to the breeder within one week of receiving the puppy or this guarantee is null and void.
If the buyer decides not to take the puppy to a licensed vet within this time frame, this warranty becomes null and void.
If at the exam, the puppy is found to have a life threatening congenital defect (puppy will die from the condition), a replacement puppy or a purchase refund will be given, the choice of the breeder.
This is provided the buyer contacts the breeder within 24 hours of the exam (a copy of the exam is to be e-mailed to the breeder), a second opinion from an unassociated vet stating the same problem is also required with signed, written documentation (at the buyer's expense), and the puppy is promptly returned (at the buyer's expense) to the breeder.
If the puppy is euthanized at the vet check, this warranty becomes null and void.
All registration papers, documents, etc. given at the time of purchase must also be returned with the puppy.
The breeder will send another available puppy (or puppy from upcoming litter of equal value chosen by the breeder) at buyer's expense or a refund upon verification of the problem by our licensed vet.
If the buyer chooses to keep the puppy, no refunds/puppy exchange will be given.
The breeder will not be responsible for illness or health problems which are diagnosed after this 48 hour period.
ALL vet care, costs, and fees are the responsibility of the buyer after leaving the breeder's home.
Matthew Zane's Boston Terriers reserves the right to make updates/changes to this website at any time.
This contract is valid for the original purchaser only,
upon transfer of this puppy to another person this contract becomes null and void.
When a deposit is received the purchaser automatically agrees to the terms of this contract,
even if both the Breeder and Purchaser have not yet signed the contract.
Should there be any dispute; legal venue shall take place in Minnehaha County, State of South Dakota.
