Taping can be somewhat of a sticky subject. Pun intended. No matter what, it really is a person's preference to tape or not to tape. Usually... their ears will stand without any problems, but I just want to be sure they do. It really all boils down to the "leather" of the ears. All ears are different. I was quite surprised when we got Mavis at 9 weeks old, her ears were already standing. None of the others did at that young of age. Let's take Lucky for an example. At 9 weeks old, his looked like they are starting to come up a bit, but not all the way. I've seen pictures of his sister, Topanga, and they are standing up, so every pup is different. I decided to tape Lucky's ears because I want them to stand up. That's just my preference. This is the link I used to learn about ear taping and the kind of tape they use.
I stumbled upon a post on Facebook by Paisley Conlon.
She was advertising handrawn charcoal or watercolor portraits of pets. I instantly fell in love with her colorful watercolor portraits. Considering my Mom and I have a couple of big birthdays coming up in March, (I was born on her 25th birthday and she's turning 60 this year), I commissioned Paisley to paint 2 portraits for us. I decided to have her do Sookie (Blue Eye Tri Mini Aussie) in realistic colors, and Mavis (Boston Terrier) in colorful colors. Wow! I cannot wait to frame them. They are so beautiful! UPDATE 2/7/17: I decided to order one more watercolor for Phoenix's February birthday of his Pug, Ellie. Happy 13th Birthday Phoenix! I bought almost all of ours on Ebay for a pretty decent deal. Finding the right collar is another tough task. We've tried a lot of different brands and styles. Here are the top 3 that we've come to love the most: Tufflock Brand. I was hesitant about a plastic buckle clip, but so far so good. They are also also guaranteed for life and Made in the USA. Gray + Hound Collections. One of my puppy buyers, Crysta, let me in on this little secret. We are both Etsy fanatics and she found these homemade collars with metal buckles for her boys, Howard and Rodney. I fell in love with them. Such fun, cute designs. Machine washable too. Made in the USA. A couple of Christmas' ago, I got them these from: Muttropolis.
They all held up well too. Ginger wore the seatbelt buckle collar, with doughnuts though. Oofta. We tried a lot of different Pet ID tags before we found ones that we fell in love with. Most don't hold up to daily wear and tear but the tags from Red Dingo have lasted and you can still READ them!
